“Aim higher, even if you stumble, you will still perform better than you once did.” This has been my motto throughout my four years of studies in The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. From my first day as a student without any programming knowledge, I strived for every opportunity HSUHK offered. I served as the financial secretary of the student association, joining a special programming team, participated in the HSUHK Local Internship Programme as an intern, led a research team in the field of Artificial Intelligence Voice Conversion and published a conference paper at the highly prestigious IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence. Without setting ambitious goals and the support from HSUHK—from professional knowledge provided by our professors to scholarships that served as financial assistance—it would have been nearly impossible for me on behalf of my team to stand in front of worldwide professions, presenting our novel approach of voice conversion. Without the university paving the way for providing internships opportunities across various industries, I might still be struggling to seek job opportunities. Time flies, and my journey at HSUHK comes to an end. However, I am confident that my journey here will remain one of the most unforgettable milestones of my life.

The 4-year Bachelor Programme in Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) had been a fruitful journey for me. With a variety of modules that offer me both theoretical and practical knowledge, I was being inspired to join the CCI in the future and make contributions for the society. During my study, I enjoyed writing my Capstone Project to explore issues related to the CCI. Along with learning multiple research methods and receiving the guidance from my supervisor, I also acquired the techniques for forming arguments and structuring the research, as well as presenting my findings to academic staff and fellow students. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the academic and administrative staff who have supported my learning in the Programme, and I believe our class of 2024 will shine in the field they pursue.

If life is a journey, then HSUHK is a crucial staging post for me.

Being a BA-CHI student at HSUHK has been the most unforgettable experience for me and brought gracious memories that is worth recalling all my life. In these four years, I had cultivated myself in various areas including academic knowledge, interpersonal skills, and research tactics. Apart from studying major courses on campus and joining the outbound exchange programme (Tsinghua University in Beijing), where I had pursued studies of classical Chinese language and literature, I also became a student helper in the Department of Chinese and a member of the Catalogue team in the University Library at HSUHK. I had gained valuable experience serving on campus and doing academic research, which effectively enhanced my professional knowledge.

I wholeheartedly appreciate all professors, teachers, and staff not only in the Department of Chinese but also within the HSUHK community, especially Professor CHEUNG Kwong Yue (CHI), Dr TAN Mei Ah (CHI), Dr AU Yik Sau (CHI), Ms KO Wai (CHI), Ms KWOK Kam Fung (Library), Ms HO Kwan Hung (Library) and Ms LAW Siu Yau (Library) since they had imparted their knowledge and provided me with learning, internship, and work opportunities. I was able to better equip myself before graduation and got well prepared to face the challenges ahead.

There were countless precious memories at HSUHK that I am grateful to have shared with friends both within the BA-CMCT programme and outside of it. Apart from the time spent on studying for the programme major, my three years in the Honours Academy, participating in an exchange programme to Canada, producing a micro-film in my final year, and leading the Creative Team of TEDxHSUHK 2024—just to name a few—are unforgettable memories from my university life.

I would like to thank every teacher, staff, and classmate with whom I have had the pleasure of working throughout these years. You all have helped me develop my professional and soft skills, provided me with various opportunities, challenged me to break my limits, and even changed my outlook on life entirely.

Congratulations to all graduates! I wish everyone a bright future full of opportunities to make the world a better place and full of challenges that will fuel your growth even more.

Embarking on the enriching 4-year BA in English (Honours) Programme proved to be a fulfilling adventure for me. I extend my gratitude to Dr. Anna Tso for the invitation to share my reflections and express my heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated professors and lecturers who have imparted their knowledge to me. To each of them, I convey my appreciation for their teaching efforts and dedication. My university life stood out as a period of unparalleled freedom where I had the autonomy to design my class schedules and learn at my own pace.

To all HSUHK students, may you “work hard, play hard, open your heart”. May you have joy in learning inside and outside the classroom, cherish the guidance of your mentors, embrace the freedom to shape your path, and seize every opportunity that comes your way. Here's to a vibrant and successful academic voyage ahead.

It may sound like a cliche, but this very question led me to secure a 4-year full scholarship at HSUHK and set me on a path of self-discovery in my 20s. HSUHK is where I learned to be generous and give back to society. Corporate Governance is where I see my passion. I gained international exposure during my exchange in Finland, the Elite Summer Programme at Harvard University, and the Global Immersion Programme in Singapore, together with peers I can call friends and family away from home (Malaysia). HSUHK has given me some of the best years in my life.

I am delighted to graduate from the BBA (Honours) in Financial Analysis programme at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. The diverse curriculum allowed me to explore and gain a deeper understanding of various investment strategies and tools.

One of the most unforgettable experiences during my studies was participating in the 8th Joint University Investment Game, where I won the CBBC Championship. This achievement was largely made possible by the financial skills I developed at HSUHK, which helped me stay attuned to stock market movements.

I am deeply grateful for the invaluable support and guidance from my dedicated teachers. I also want to express my gratitude to all my classmates who worked diligently alongside me. The experiences I have had at HSUHK have laid a solid foundation for my future. I will always cherish my time here and look forward to the exciting opportunities that await.

Throughout my university experience, I have embarked on a transformative journey characterized by challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories. Each moment has played a role in shaping the individual I am today, from the initial thrill of setting foot on campus to the countless late nights dedicated to study. The array of courses I've engaged with has not only enriched my understanding but also widened my view of the world. Interactions with professors and peers have ignited my intellectual curiosity and encouraged me to approach complex issues with a critical mindset. Balancing academic pursuits with extracurricular commitments has instilled in me the significance of time management and the benefits of a holistic education. As graduation is drawing near, I looked back on this milestone journey with HSU that it has been amazing in many fronts – the many friendships forged, the variety of skills honed, and the personal development attained. I am grateful that I am departing with a treasure trove of knowledge and leaving the campus with many unforgettable memories.

This programme provided me with the flexibility to customize my academic journey to meet my personal needs when I was uncertain about my future career. The small class sizes fostered meaningful interactions with professors and fellow students, which significantly enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills.

Transitioning from online to face-to-face classes after the pandemic was challenging, and at times, I felt lost and frustrated about my efforts. However, I have no regrets about my decision to pursue this major, even if it was made on a whim.

Over the past four years, I was fortunate to have exceptional opportunities, including receiving scholarships, and completing a two-month global internship at HKTDC in Osaka, which broadened my international perspective.

My life at HSUHK has taught me that persistence can thrive without a definitive purpose. The soft skills and business acumen I have developed will undoubtedly benefit me in my future endeavours.

I wanted to take a moment to share something from the heart. My time in GBM has been an incredible whirlwind of experiences. From chasing the Northern Lights in Finland to witnessing breathtaking sunsets, each moment is etched in my memory.

The highlight has undoubtedly been the amazing people I've met along the way. From friends across the globe to my ultimate frisbee teammates, each individual has added a unique sparkle to this journey.

GBM has opened a world of possibilities, allowing me to explore various facets of business. This experience has been a profound journey of self-discovery, helping me uncover my true passions.

I am truly thankful for the opportunities, friendships, and personal growth this university has offered. The marketing modules provided valuable insights into market analysis and strategies that will benefit my entrepreneurial endeavors.

One of the most rewarding experiences was co-founding an EdTech startup aimed at enhancing English education. The support from professors and initiatives like the HSU E-Challenge inspired us to continuously strive for excellence.

The engaging lectures in small class settings allowed for more personalized guidance from professors, significantly contributing to my development. Preparing and delivering ideas not only sharpened my presentation skills but also boosted my confidence in public speaking and effective communication.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey. I look forward to maintaining our connections in the future.

My experience at HSU has been an unforgettable one and I am filled with gratitude. It is not only a place to study, but also a sanctuary for self-exploration. The university actively provides us with a lot of information on internships, competitions and interest clubs, encouraging us to enrich our spare time while studying hard.

Here, I have met many excellent professors, who are humorous or rational. Their professional teaching and patience are like illuminating beacons for me, guiding me to persevere through each complex problem. At the same time, I have also found many like-minded partners and formed study groups, where we brainstorm together and grow together through mutual motivation.

Reflecting on my university life, I am filled with unforgettable memories that shaped who I am today. Participating in enjoyable events and late-night study sessions with friends, filled with laughter and snacks, brought us closer together and made tough times feel easier. I will always remember the professors who genuinely cared; their passion for teaching inspired me and fueled my eagerness to learn. I recall the countless hours my group and I spent revising our final research project report and preparing for the presentation. When we finally finished presenting, it struck me that my college life was coming to an end. That moment reminded me of how far I had come since my first days on campus. Each late night spent collaborating, brainstorming, and problem-solving not only strengthened our project but also deepened my friendships. The lessons I learned and the memories I made during those years will stay with me forever.

My university experience has been a whirlwind of excitement, challenges, and unforgettable moments. From the very first day of Orientation, I formed friendships that became essential to my journey. Group projects allowed me to learn from others and deepened my understanding of society in ways I can’t fully express.

The highlight of my time at HSUHK was the Final Year Project (FYP). This experience offered a glimpse into real business scenarios, enhancing my communication skills and strengthening my bonds with classmates. Though the FYP was filled with ups and downs and presented challenges I had never faced before, it was truly unforgettable.

Outside the classroom, I engaged in various extra-curricular activities that enriched my university life. From language learning to art workshops, there was always something exciting to explore, and I cherished every moment spent beyond traditional academics. I am especially grateful to my friends, lecturers, project supervisors, and my girlfriend, who have all inspired me throughout my journey at HSUHK!

As a BSc-AIN student, I have gained a solid practical foundation in mathematics and statistics, along with specialised knowledge in risk management and actuarial science. This background equips me with essential skills in data processing and analysis, enhancing my competitiveness in the technology-driven big data landscape.

In addition to actuarial knowledge, the BSc-AIN Programme provides a comprehensive understanding of insurance, covering various types, operations, and the underlying theories. Acquiring expertise in both actuarial science and insurance broadens my career options and opportunities.

Throughout the academic year, the programme consistently offers job opportunities. The BSc-AIN Programme collaborates with multiple companies, providing numerous internships that allow me to apply what I've learned in the classroom. This experience significantly eases my transition to the job market after graduation. I am grateful for the diverse experiences and opportunities I have encountered here.

As I reflect on my time at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), the motto “Dedicated to Action and Learning” resonates deeply with me. The four-year university journey passed quickly and was over in the blink of an eye. The most memorable experience was joining the overseas exchange program. Living in another country with students from different nations for a few months was a precious experience! Through this opportunity , I gained an international mindset and enhanced my language skills. Besides, living abroad deepened my understanding of that nation and provided me with a new perspective on Hong Kong, allowing me to observe my birthplace from a different angle. Most importantly, I made friends from all over the world; a friendship that transcends geographical boundaries is truly amazing. While studying is important, participating in various activities can make your university life incredible!

I am Jiang Xinyi, a graduate of the Master of Arts in Chinese. The unique curriculum offered by the Department of Chinese at the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong allowed us to re-examine the significance and value of Chinese studies, and broadened the boundaries of our understanding of the subject with a novel and international point of view.

The teachers' profound knowledge and attentive guidance encouraged students to challenge themselves and improve their personal skills while mastering research methods.

The valuable qualities of honesty, modesty, helpfulness, rigor, and independent thinking demonstrated by teachers and classmates are going to benefit me for a lifetime.

During the MA-ELTA programme, I had the privilege of participating in an international academic conference co-hosted by the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Tung Wah College. As a student representative, I not only chaired several conference sessions but also presented my own academic paper. I deeply appreciate the diverse academic platforms the university provides, such as this academic conference, to showcase and share my research. I am extremely grateful to the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong for offering me this international stage. Presenting my work at such a conference not only enhanced my academic skills but also allowed me to benefit greatly from the global academic environment. It remains one of the most remarkable memories of my university life.

Throughout my studies, I have come to deeply appreciate the unique structure of the MA-ELTA programme. The curriculum not only provides a solid theoretical foundation but also offers valuable hands-on experience through group microteaching sessions. In these sessions, we are divided into small groups to collaboratively simulate real-life teaching scenarios, which allows us to integrate theoretical knowledge with practice.

I particularly value this approach because it made me realise that teaching is not just about mastering content but also about adapting to dynamic classroom environments. The professors play a crucial role in this process by guiding us through the theoretical aspects while offering constructive feedback during the microteaching sessions, helping us identify areas for improvement and grow as future educators.

Graduating from The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong with a master’s degree in Global English Literary and Cultural Studies with distinction has been a transformative journey. Reflecting on my time here, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching experiences and friendships formed. The diverse curriculum broadened my understanding of literature's role in shaping cultures and societies. Among thousands of choices, I always choose to do what I think it is worth. I may do it beautifully, or I may not do it well, but it doesn't matter. The important thing is that I have worked hard for it. It is difficult for us to do everything well, so that life does not leave any regrets: Do our best, enjoy the process, accept the result. In the future, whenever I see the world and see sentient beings, I find that the world I see is one with my inner courage and confidence. When I see the four seasons and the clouds, I find that the beauty I see is the seemingly plain life and mood.

A year of study in the MA in Theatre Studies enlightened me many things about life.

I'm incredibly grateful to have encountered so many great professors. A huge thank you to the teaching team of the MSc Entrepreneurial Management program at HSUHK. Every professor was dedicated to teaching and helping students solve problems. I had a really great learning experience at HSUHK.

I'm also thankful for my classmates, especially those I worked with on group projects. Everyone was hardworking and supportive. Also, special thanks to University for organizing various activities like entrepreneurship competitions, talks, workshops, networking events, and, most notably, the Mid-Autumn party, the Uniquely Common Concert, and the orientation cum alumni dinner, allowing even part-time postgraduate students like me to enjoy wonderful university life. Lastly, I'm grateful for the beautiful campus, with its bamboo architecture and the upper stream of the Shing Mun River running through it. Thanks to all!

Time flies! I’m thrilled to have completed my part-time postgraduate degree in the MSc-GSCM programme at HSUHK. The countless memorable learning experiences over the past two years fully met my expectations before admission. I can confidently say that I am now equipped with multidisciplinary skills and mindsets in the electronic products supply chain industry. This has greatly helped me manage daily job projects amidst an uncertain global environment and development opportunities.

I am grateful for the invaluable knowledge gained throughout this journey, not only did I learn comprehensive supply chain theory, but I also developed decision-making and problem-solving skills under using data analytics and cutting-edge technologies in various business cases. My studying experience in Master of Business Management (MBM) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong is invaluable. The MBM Programme equips me on how to face challenges while pursuing my career at the same time. I always cherish the time and the people who studied together with me. Thank you for the teachers and those who accompanied me. As the date of graduation approaches, I look forward to packing up these beautiful memories and meeting my classmates.

Looking back to my incredible journey at HSU, I am filled with gratitude for the knowledge and friendships I gained. Every drop of sweat has contributed to my academic and personal development.

As I conclude my study in the Public Policy and Risk Governance programme, I am overwhelmed with appreciation to my generous professors and great peers. The engaging discussions, thought-provoking lectures and collaborative projects deepened my understanding of complex social issues. How fortunate it is for me to return to campus as a student after many years of working. During my time at the HSUHK, the place where I spent the most time was the library, which had an extremely comfortable environment and a wide variety of professional books to satisfy our learning demands, and the learning atmosphere here was excellent. The students in our major have a great passion for learning, and the classmates in our class are the ones I encounter the most in the library, especially at the end of the semester. I have also learned a lot from my outstanding classmates, and the spirit of perseverance and love for life in them has infected me. This year's study, in addition to obtaining academic qualifications and knowledge, has enriched me further, thanks to HSUHK.
